HELLO !!
THIS IS MY STORY....
My name is Joyce, I am British and I live in France.
I am also an Advisor in canine behaviors, dealing with human-canine communications and relationships.
I have lived in France for many years and I began this particular journey of working with dogs as a volunteer for an organization that found, helped, cared for and placed for adoption, street dogs (and puppies) that had been born on the streets, abandoned and often mistreated in Croatia.
One thing that stood out in my mind was the lack of appropriate help available for the owner, when a dog had been adopted and started having behavior issues. This could often lead to the dog being abandoned again, or worse, being put down for the wrong reasons!
So I decided to do something that could help with this problem and I started studying several different methods and ideas from different countries, to try and find the method that I felt was the best to help both owners and their dogs.
I followed an intensive 6-month training course in France, to become an advisor in canine behaviors, which was followed by the presentation of a brief concerning various aspects of canine behaviors.
The foundation of this training is based on:
-
Ethology (scientific observation of animal behavior and interaction with its environment)
-
The canine biological profile
-
Human & canine psychology (systematic approach) - including canine cognitive skills
-
The study of human-canine communication
-
Different interview and communication techniques.
GET REAL-LIFE RESULTS ...
I use a method which is a games-based approach, linked to concepts. (see the presentation videos for more information)
This method does not concentrate on teaching your dog behaviors to carry out IN certain situations - this method prepares your dog FOR the situation. In other words, it teaches your dog to be able to CHOOSE different, calmer coping strategies in the different situations he finds himself.
Teaching control behaviors alone, does not translate into real life. Behaviors are important - but they do not always solve your dog's core problems. By using a combination of concepts and games in training, you can dramatically reduce or eliminate your dog’s “struggles” – allowing you both to form a team and work with each other, instead of working against one another.
(Please note that I do not give obedience courses. The games that you can access FREE on this site are just some of the many games and strategies that I use in a transformation programme.)
